Full Description: Our brewery is situated in the old market town of Witney in Oxfordshire at the old Eagle Maltings, built more than 150 years ago when barley was malted for the town's brewery. Wychwood is named after the ancient medieval forest of The Wych Wood, which borders Witney, and many of Wychwood's beer labels depict characters from myths and legends associated with the ancient wood.

Following the closure of Brakspear's Henley-on-Thames brewery in October 2002 Wychwood took on a licence to brew Brakspear beers, and enlarged the Wychwood Brewery site to incorporate a new Brakspear brewhouse. We are proud to say that Brakspear is once again 'Oxfordshire-brewed'.
