It’s not a very well known fact that the source of the River Thames is in the Cotswolds. As the river slowly flows on to London, it leads through some of the most beautiful and historic countryside in England and at Tadpole Bridge, near the Oxfordshire village of Bampton, 20 minutes from the centre of Oxford you’ll find The Trout.  The Trout is a Free House offering six luxurious en-suite bedrooms and high quality dining for it's guests. There are riverside walks and berthing for up to six boats – a real ‘escape from it all’ location. The Trout is convenient for the nearby Vale of the White Horse and the Chiltern Hills around Henley-on-Thames and Wallingford and also for the world famous attractions of Oxford and the Cotswolds.

Staying at The Trout.  All of our spacious six en-suite bedrooms are individually designed and are quite different, one from another. Each has all the modern day comforts such as high definition flat screen televisions with a choice of over 30 channels, DVD  CD players, and radios. Additionally, complimentary Wi-fi Internet connection is available in all areas of the inn.

Meetings and Corporate Events .   The Trout Inn with its relaxed, informal atmosphere makes the perfect venue for a business meeting, small conference or event.  The elegantly refurbished meeting room, overlooking the mature garden offers privacy and seclusion to ensure your meeting will be a success. Our chef will prepare menus to suit your individual requirements, including working lunches, which may be discreetly served in your meeting room. Alternatively, take lunch on the riverside or in the informal atmosphere of the Inn.
