Sezincote House

Sezincote is a country house built in the Indian Moghal style and set in beautiful grounds near Moreton in Marsh in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds.


The house with its onion domes, minarets, arches and pavilion were designed by Samuel Pepys Cockerell for his brother Sir Charles, who worked for the East India Company. Completed in 1805, it was the inspiration for the famous Brighton Pavilion.

Sir John Betjeman described the unique property in his autobiography "Summoned by Bells". He used to come here for lunch during his time as an undergraduate at Oxford:

Opening Hours.
Sezincote Garden is open from January to November and The House is open from May to September inclusive on Thursdays, Fridays and Bank Holiday Mondays from 2.30pm to 5.30pm.
