The idyllic Cotswold town on Burford in Oxfordshire.



Burford is known as the 'Gateway to the Cotswolds' and has a rich history and architectural heritage having been inhabited for over 6,000 years.

The town is set in a beautiful and commanding position on a hill overlooking the River Windrush as it flows through the Oxfordshire countryside.  There are rich honey coloured buildings, ancient churches and famous hostelries and hotels including Burford House Hotel, described as 'one of the lovliest small hotels in the Cotswolds'.

The broad main High Street is lined with old houses, cottages and shop fronts which have changed little for hundreds of years. There are teashops, galleries, gift shops and several pubs, cafes and restaurants to discover in this classic Cotswold town.  and antique shops and taurants
