Birdland Park and Gardens

Birdland Park and Gardens at Bourton-in-the-Water in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds. A superb family day out in the Cotswolds.

Birdland was first established in 1957 and is now established as one of the premier attractions in the Cotswolds.

Birdland is a natural setting inhabited by over 500 birds. Flamingos, pelicans, penguins, cranes, storks, cassowary, and waterfowl can be seen on various aspects of the water habitat. Over 50 aviaries of parrots, falcons, pheasants, hornbills, toucans, touracos, pigeons, ibis and many more. Tropical, Desert and Toucan Houses are home to the more delicate species.

The Tropical House has now beeen renamed the 'Discovery Zone'. Visitors still enter at the front and walk around the area, but there is now an indoor dry area with various themes to investigate plus a soft play and seating area and two display areas. One relates to the story about eggs and examples of all classes of animals from insects, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. The other graphic area explains ‘What is a Bird’.
